According to the Alliance for Period Supplies (2023), 1 in 4 U.S. teens has missed class due to a lack of access to menstrual products, a crisis known as “period poverty.” Women in shelters, schools, and low-income households often silently face this need, which impacts their health, confidence, and ability to participate fully in life. Access to hygiene products isn’t a luxury, it’s a basic human right.
